PARTIES ARE big business and almost every party needs music. Be it a birthday party dinner party corporate event wedding or a just because bash. People want their parties to be remembered and FunkyDiva Music can ensure this with its digital jukebox system for the iPod generation. When MIDAS signed up for FunkyDiva in April, it had little experience in the party or events industry but were looking for an opportunity that offered flexibility, needed little storage space and came with central support.

Within weeks the first local bookings started to come through the main booking website. MIDAS director Hardip Rai says: “How did we achieve this? The answer was simple. Local marketing and word of mouth are extremely important.

“We started by calling all the hotels and other venues in Birmingham and almost immediately we got a booking from one hotel,” says Hardip. MIDAS has now been booked for every weekend for the last three months and Hardip is taking on an additional FunkyDiva unit from July.

In terms of franchisee support, Jan explains: We provide a one-day introduction, training and ongoing marketing and technical support. We invest heavily in nationwide marketing especially internet marketing Google: Yahoo, Yell, etc. The majority of the bookings come through our website.”

So what does FunkyDiva Music offer that its competitors don’t? Jan replies: “FunkyDiva is quite unique. There is no other company that can provide the same level of service for the same price.

“The other jukebox hire companies are either local, with limited supply, or are very expensive. The equipment we provide was designed for the party hire market and is designed to be extremely user friendly, easily transportable and robust “We grow our supply quickly so we can satisfy the demand at peak periods at the same price.
